Brain Injury Australia

The peak acquired brain injury (ABI) advocacy body representing the needs of people with an acquired brain injury, their families and carers through its State and Territory Member Organisations.

The members of Brain Injury Australia are:

Brain Injury Association of NSW

Provides services to all persons affected by acquired brain injury - those with acquired brain injuries, family members, friends, professionals, and the broader community.

Synapse Inc. (formerly the Brain Injury Association of Queensland)

Provides support, advocacy and information to people with an acquired brain injury, their families, and to individuals or organisations that share the ABI experience.

Brain Injury Association of Tasmania (BIAT)

The peak body for people living with or affected by brain injury in Tasmania.

Brain Injury Network of South Australia (BINSA)

Provides support, information and assistance to people living in South Australia who have experienced brain injury and their relatives.

Headwest (Western Australia)

The peak advocacy body in Western Australia for people living with acquired brain injury and their families/carers.

Brain Injury Matters (BIM, Victoria)

Facilitates self-advocacy and community education for people with an Acquired Brain Injury living in Victoria.

Somerville Community Services Inc (Northern Territory)

A non-government, not for profit, youth, family and community welfare organisation indigenous to the Northern Territory.

A forum for multi-disciplinary research and clinical practice for Australian professionals working in brain impairment.

Australian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine

The peak professional organisation for Rehabilitation Medicine education and training in Australia and New Zealand.

Brain Injury Centre

The Australian Brain Injury Integration Centre works with individuals who have been diagnosed with short term working memory deficit after a traumatic brain injury.

BrainLink (formerly Brain Foundation Victoria)

Provides education support programs for carers and families, respite opportunities, case management, information and resources and referral service to assist navigating the disability service sector.

Brain Foundation

Was established by members of the Australian Association of Neurologists and the Neurosurgical Society of Australasia to reduce the incidence and impact of disorders of the brain, spinal cord and nervous system through support, community education and research.

Headway Gold Coast

Provides services to Gold Coast residents with an acquired brain injury.
